Privacy Policy

Who we are, and what we are not

Host Compass is a comparison site. We gather hosting prices and terms in one place, and earn a commission from the company if you subscribe through our links — that commission comes from them, not from you, and you pay their published price.

**We are not a hosting company.** We host no sites, own no servers, and cannot access your account anywhere. If you subscribe to a plan, the contract is between you and that company.

What we store when you send a request

When you fill the order form we store these fields and no others:

• **Your name**, as you typed it.
• **One contact method** you chose: WhatsApp, phone, or email.
• **The company, plan and term** you picked, and its price at that moment.
• **Your note**, if you wrote one.
• **A payment receipt image**, only if you uploaded one.
• **A reference number** so you can ask about your request.

We never ask for card details and never see them. Payment happens on the company site, not here.

And when you send a message

Name, email, subject and the message text. We keep a **hashed fingerprint** of your IP address rather than the address itself — it stops repeated automated messages and identifies nobody.

The optional account

If you choose to create an account to follow your request, we store your email and a **one-way hashed** password — we cannot read it ourselves. The account is entirely optional; the request goes through without it.

Measurement and advertising

We use Google Analytics to learn which pages actually help. Events such as "opened a company page" or "clicked an offer" are sent along with page type, language and market.

**Never sent:** your name, email, phone, the text of your note, or any part of an assistant conversation. That list is a closed allow-list in the code — any field outside it is stripped before sending.

Advertising storage stays denied until you consent. If you decline, the whole site still works — comparison, filters and ordering depend on no tag.

You can change your choice any time from the "Privacy settings" link in the footer.

Links to hosting companies

When you click an offer we send you to the company site with our referral id. They set a cookie on their side to know the visit came from us. That happens on their site under their rules — read their policy.

We record that the click happened (which plan, from which page) so we know what helps. **A click is a click** — we do not know whether you bought unless the company tells us.

How long, and who sees it

Requests and messages stay in our database until you ask us to delete them. There is no automatic deletion, because an old request helps if you come back about it.

Only our own staff see this data, each with limited permissions: whoever answers requests cannot reach site settings. Sessions end after an hour of inactivity.

**We do not sell your data or pass it to anyone** beyond the services this site runs on: hosting (Hostinger), analytics (Google), and the assistant service if you used it.

Your right to see or erase

Write to support@host-compass.com with your reference number or the contact you used, and we will send you what we hold or delete it. No questions asked.
