Hosting for agencies and people who build client sites

If you build websites for other people, your problem is not the price. It is that every client now has a bill of their own.

The problem

You build a site for a client. You buy them hosting.

A month later, another client. Another hosting account.

A year in you have ten accounts, each with its own renewal date and its own bill. And when one goes down, the client calls you, not the hosting company.

The maths

One plan with unlimited websites solves this. The number speaks for itself:

ClientsA plan eachOne unlimited plan
33 bills$3.79/mo
1010 bills$3.79/mo
2525 bills$3.79/mo

At ten clients, that works out to under twenty pounds per client per month.

These prices are read from our table when you open the page, not typed into the text. See the comparison page for the latest figures.

What you actually need

Not what the ads talk about. These four are what matter to you:

Unlimited websites. The basics. Without it you are back to a bill per client.

SSH access. So you can move a site or fix something without uploading files one at a time.

Backups you can restore yourself. When an update breaks a client's site, how long you take to restore it is what decides their opinion of you. Read website backups.

A renewal price you know now. Because you are quoting a price to a client. If the bill doubles next year, either you pay the difference or you have an awkward conversation. Read hosting renewal prices.

The plan we recommend

Flashcloud Grow at $3.79/mo.

It has all of the above:

  • Unlimited websites
  • 50 GB NVMe
  • WP-CLI and SSH access
  • Unlimited email
  • A free domain for as long as you stay

And one thing nobody else offers: a human team builds the site inside the subscription. If you have a client who wants a simple site and you have no time for it, that saves you a day's work.

If the sites get heavy

Flashcloud Scale at $8.49/mo — the same, but 100 GB, higher resources and daily backups.

One thing you should know

The first-year price is a promotion. Renewal after that is $11.99 a month.

We tell you now so you can put it in the price you quote. And Flashcloud states it on its own page before you buy, which beats a company that hides it until the second invoice.

When the client takes the site over

There are two ways, and each suits someone:

Keep the hosting in your name. The client pays you monthly or yearly and you handle everything. Easier for them, steady income for you.

Move the site to their own account. If you want to be done with it. Most companies migrate a site free — the method is in migrating your hosting.

The first is better if this is ongoing work. The second is better if you hand over and walk away.

Quick questions

Can I give each client their own control panel?
You can give each one an FTP account and a database for their site. A fully separate control panel per client comes with reseller plans, which is a different and pricier thing.

What if one client's site eats resources?
It affects the other sites on the same plan. If you have one heavy client, put them on their own. Read shared vs VPS.

Can I start small and grow?
Yes, and that is the right way. Start with Grow, and move up to Scale or a server if you run short.
